CVT - AN OVERVIEW

In a standard automated transmission, the gears are basically gears -- interlocking, toothed wheels that aid transmit and modify rotary movement and torque. A combination of planetary gears produces all of the several gear ratios which the transmission can create, commonly 4 ahead gears and a single reverse gear.Positively Infinitely Variable (PIV)
